Gameplay
Wii Sports is designed to be simple to learn so people of any age or experience can quickly understand and enjoy. Using the motion sensors inside the Wii remote the games on the disc are played similar to the real life sport that they represent.
Main Game
Wii Tennis
Players use the Wii remote to control the swing of thier tennis racket. Characters on screen will automatically move to where the ball has been hit. Serving can either be performed by pressing 'A' or by mimicking the gesture with the controller. Players control the type of swing, angle of hit, spin and power all by the movement of the remote. Up to four players can play simultaneously.
Wii Baseball
Swing the controller like a bat and hit as many home runs as you can against the computer pitcher. Two players can play with one playing the batter and the other the pitcher. As the pitcher a player selects the type of pitch they're going to throw by holding different buttons and pitches the ball using a throwing motion with the controller.
Wii Bowling
Roll the ball down the alley and knockdown the pins. Score as high as you can in ten frames. To throw the ball hold the 'B' button, swing the controller forward, and release the ball at the end of your swing. Twisting the controller will add spin to your throw. Four players can play using one controller.
Wii Golf
Make it to the cup in as few strokes as possible. Adjust you position left or right using the directional pad, up and down to select club, and the '1' button to check terrain elevation. Players may take as many practice swings as they want before they start. When the player is ready hold 'A' to approach the ball and swing to hit it towards the cup. Power is determined by the speed of the swing and can be fine tuned depending how far yhe player follows through on the swing. Four players can play using one controller.
Wii Boxing
Wii Boxing is the only game in the collection to use both the remote and nunchuk attachment. Players jab forward with the controllers to punch. Keep the controllers in front of you to block. Move both controllers to either side or back to dodge your opponents punches. As you play the computer opponents increase in difficulty. Two players can fight against each other in split screen.
Training
Training mini games are available to help improve your skills. Three mini games are available for each sport. Medals are awarded for reaching high scores.
Fitness
Determine your fitness age by playing three random mini games. Depending on your performance you will be given you fitness age. The younger the age the better with 20 being the best possible. The game will keep a chart of your progress in this mode. You can only take the fitness test once per day.
