Talk:Megabit
From GamerWiki
Erm, is mebibyte in the wikipedia link a typo? I checked it out and there is a "mebibyte" entry but ss it supposed to be a link to wikipedia entry "megabit"?
Nope - a "mebibyte" is 2^10 bytes. A "megabyte" is 10^6 bytes.
Of course, it used to be that a megabyte was 2^10 bytes, but it has all been changed now.
- Yup, mebibyte is a very daft word, but appears to be a reasonably "official" term. Don't like it myself.. -- tyagi 10:44, 10 Jun 2005 (UTC)
