Talk:Gigabyte

Why is this page needed, along with Bytes/Kilobytes/Megabytes? I don't really see it's relevance to games, particularly when the more appropriate and useful Megabit hasn't been made. Halo 17:39, 23 May 2005 (UTC)

  • Seen the N64 page now, but still not sure about it's existance and think that maybe a link to Wikipedia instead would be more appropriate Halo 17:45, 23 May 2005 (UTC)

Erm, sorry. If you want delete it. You said maybe mega bit is more relevent... well it tells you about 1 byte is 8 bits? Game machines are increasingly becoming more advanced, for example dont PS2 games give you the save game size in bytes/kilobytes (as pposed to blocks like before)? If you want delete it I just fort it would be handly.

  • I think that a small set of pages about memory measurements is useful. I, for one, always used to be confused about why console cartridges were measured in Megabits and normal computer memory sizes measured in megabytes. One thing I would ask is that we don't just provide a dictionary definition of these things but apply the information to the videogame market and give some examples, images etc. to support the raw text. This is or rather can be a valuable set of pages provided it's applied correctly to what we're doing here. Good idea to add it in my opinion. -- tyagi 05:55, 24 May 2005 (UTC)

Okay well i tried to make it more relevent to computer games. --Junglist 14:23, 24 May 2005 (UTC)
