Description
Street Fighter Anniversary Collection includes Hyper Street Fighter 2 and Street Fighter 3: Third Strike. Also included is the Street Fighter 2 movie, which can be found in the menu for Hyper Street Fighter 2.
Story
A summary of the game's story. E.g. "Lario was scratching his mustache when Princess Pooch ran away into the computer. He had to contribute to GamerWiki to save her and the whole kingdom.". Try and avoid spoilers!
Gameplay
The two games play very differently to each other, however both follow the traditional VS beat-em-up style of trying to be the first to deplete the opponents life bar before they can do the same to you.
Hyper Street Fighter 2
Hyper Street Fighter 2 differs from Street Fighter 2 in that it features up to five different versions of the characters. These are the original, Championship (or Dash), Turbo, Super and Super Turbo versions. For the characters introduced in Super only the Super and Super Turbo versions are selectable. The computer player will always use a Super Turbo character when playing in single player mode.
Street Fighter 3: Third Strike
Street Fighter 3: Third Strike loses many of the characters from the Street Fighter 2 series, favouring introducing new characters. However Ryu, Ken, Akuma and Chun-Li still remain. This plays different to Street Fighter 2 as you can now dash a short distance forwards and backwards. The major difference introduced is parrying. To parry you push forward or down (for high and low attacks respectively) on the pad/stick at the moment an attack would strike you - this allows you to take no damage from the attack and also allows for a quicker recovery time, leaving your opponent vunerable.
Game Rules
Win the required number of rounds to win. A round is won by emptying the opponents life bar or having more energy when the time limit runs out.
Trivia
- Originally no characters from Street Fighter 2 were going to be in Street Fighter 3, with Sean taking the role of Ryu/Ken.
