The Game Boy Micro is the third model in the latest Nintendo Game Boy range, based on the Nintendo Game Boy Advance hardware. All three models have the same basic functionality, and all are compatible in terms of media and software. The Micro retains the same hardware specifications as the Nintendo Game Boy Advance, but has been made physically much smaller. Its size is just slightly larger than an Apple iPod Mini. This makes it much smaller than previous models in this range of Game Boy hardware and is more suited to being carried in the user's pocket.
It features a two inch, backlit, screen. The screen has an adjustable backlight. The Micro features interchangable face plates, which allow users to have an individually styled, handheld, gaming device.
