Metroid Prime is a first person adventure game for the Nintendo GameCube platform. It was developed by Retro Studios and published by Nintendo as an exclusive game. The Metroid franchise is one of Nintendo's biggest franchises, and the first Metroid game was released on Nintendo's NES console. You play as Samus Aran, a female intergalactic bounty hunter and it mainly evolves around two main themes; Metroids and Space Pirates. In Metroid Prime, the view was first person, a first for the series. The transition to first person, and thus 3D, is wideley believed to have been a successful one. This game was the first game by Retro Studios, an Austin-based second-party developer. In this game you are left to explore a world, that once was home of the Chozo, a bird-like race that lived for the exploration of wisdom and the truth of the universe. However, a meteor has brought with it to the planet, a great and evil poison called Phazon, that affects all living, and disrupts all life. As you play, the truth of the power, and the parts involved in harnessing it, becomes apparent.
