Platform Specific Derivatives

  • X-MAME - Official port to X Windows.


Language Specific Derivatives

  • BrMAME - Portuguese (Brazilian) language port
  • EsMAME32 - Spanish language port
  • MAME Spirits - Japanese lanugage port and a CPS+NeoGeo-specific build (JMAME and CANAME respectively)

Value-Added Derivatives

  • AdvanceMAME - Many features, but original focused on compatibility with analogue television sets.
  • KnoppixMAME - Runs from a bootable CD
  • fastMAME - Very optimised build of MAME for slower machines
  • MAME Analog+ - Enahanced Analog-input support
  • MAME Kaillera - Network playability
  • MAMEPlus - Includes some simulated games such as Pong and much more functionality besides
  • MAME Screen Saver - Run MAME as a screen saver
  • MisfitMAME - Supports only hacked versions of ROMs (many homebrew)
  • No NAME MAME - A mix of MAME Plus and MisfitMAME.
