Story
Unusually for such a game, there is no story. The player must simply guide their ball to the end of the level.
Gameplay
The game plays in a similar way to Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz (Wii), with the player tilting the game world by tilting the remote. However, unlike in Sega's game, the camera angle in Kororinpa is fixed, meaning that the player has more control over how the level is tilted. Furthermore, the playing field can be tilted through 360 degrees in all axes, meaning that what was a wall can become a floor, and so on.
Each level contains a number of orange crystals and a single green crystal. Collection of all orange crystals is mandatory for progression, with the goal not becoming operational until all crystals are collected. Collecting green crystals unlocks secret levels, new balls and music tracks; these can also be unlocked through completing stages within certain times and gaining medals. Once the initial forty five single player levels have been completed, a mirror mode is unlocked.
