Gameplay

By floating over dangerous obstacles, inhaling and spitting objects and copying enemies' powers to do battle, players must guide Kirby through a series of specially themed worlds, each of which ends in a boss battle against a larger enemy. Once the boss battle ends, the player earns another mirror shard in order to unlock the path to the final world. There are a number of secret paths along the way, and players can explore in order to find them all. Kirby can call on the other three Kirbys using his cell phone - they can provide the edge you need to finish a level or the extra manpower you need to solve a puzzle.

Kirby has the ability to inhale his enemies and copy their special abilities. With their powers, he can turn into a fireball, become a UFO or a flying missile, wield a sword and shoot fire arrows, to name just a few powers. It also features several new Kirby Copy Abilities, including ones based on his attacks in Super Smash Brothers Melee. Four players can play simultaneously in the main game as well as in the three sub-games, Speed Eaters, Crackity Hack, and Kirby Wave Ride.

Storyline

High above Dream Land, there is a great mirror that leads to the Mirror World. One day, an evil presence called Dark Mind invaded the Mirror World, and the great mirror began to reflect only the darkness in people’s hearts. To prevent the evil from seeping into Dream Land, Meta Knight flew to the rescue. Later, as Kirby was out for a walk, Meta Knight appeared and cut him with his sword into four Kirbys, each of a different color! Meta Knight flew off into the sky, leaving the surprised Kirbys behind. They hopped on a Warp Star together and flew off to the Mirror World to find out what had happened.
