This text is under development. For the moment, please assume that it is the same as Wikipedia's image use policy.

For screenshots of games and images of box covers, please tag your image for use under Fair use if applicable. This is achieved by visiting your uploaded image and editing the description page. You should then add {{fairuse}} as seen on the Streets of Rage 3 image page. This will add the following text under your image description and add it to the Fair use images category for audit purposes.

This work is copyrighted. The individual who uploaded this work and first used it in an article, and subsequent persons who place it into articles assert that this qualifies as fair use of the material under United States copyright law.

If your image has been discussed in the Fair use discussion page, and approved as fair use, you may add the {{Verifieduse}} tag to your image. This will state as follows:

This file or image is copyrighted. After deliberation on GamerWiki:Fair use, it has been decided that it is eligible for fair use under United States law, and that there are no alternatives to using it under that doctrine. It is therefore contended that this file or image is fair use; if you use it for any non-educational purpose, you may be in violation of copyright law.

GamerWiki prefers to use images which are in the public domain or licensed under the GNU Free Documentation License or a similar copyleft license. If you know of any way to obtain this image, or an equivalent one, under such conditions, please post a comment on GamerWiki talk:Fair use, with a link to the article the image is included in.

The above measures are required in order to comply with the Copyright that applies to all screenshots, box art and corporate logos. Please help GamerWiki by adhering to these guidelines for all image uploads.
