Story

Mr Esc is a professional hero, who rescues people from dangerous sitations with little thought for his own safety. Faced with ten emergency situations, ranging from an earthquake in a hospital to a flood in the underground, Mr Esc must get not only those trapped out, but also ensure that he can escape in time as well.

Gameplay

The player can pick up a number of items to help Mr Esc achieve his objectives:

  • rope ladder - allows characters to go up and down
  • rope - allows characters to go down only
  • key - unlocks doors
  • fire extinguisher - puts out level 1 and 2 fires
  • torch - illuminates part of a (dark) level
  • pickaxe - knocks down barriers
  • plank - bridges gaps

Not only can the player directly use these, but can also instruct any companions they have already rescued to use them, by using the analogue nub to control a cursor.

Types of companion

There are four main types of companion that Mr Esc encounters:

  • adults - mostly the same abilities as Mr Esc, but cannot jump up to grab a ledge, not lower themselves down a ledge to safely drop.
  • children - cannot jump as high, nor swim.
  • fatties - cannot jump or climb over tall obstacles. Can push heavy objects by themselves.
  • injured people - require someone to carry them to the exit; cannot perform any tasks.
